Klarna Spotlight- a rival to Google?

According to Klarna’s 2022 Holiday Report, when asked which of the following shopping services customers plan to use for their holiday shopping this year, 42% said price comparison tools. So Klarna took that response to heart and introduced an entirely new way to search, saving consumers the time and frustration they experience when sifting through millions of disorganised results at conventional search engines. As it stands, Klarna Spotlight could be set to rival Google’s shoppability feature.

What the CTM team loves about this though, is that this new feature is the perfect example of a brand listening to consumer feedback, acting on it, keeping sustainability in mind as well formats that are on trend, such as shoppable video content. And, although there would have been much behind the scenes work, it seems effortless.

The Spotlight

Klarna is leading the way in innovative online shopping at the moment with Klarna Spotlight; which compares thousands of websites to find the right price for your product.

The new search function displays new and pre-loved products and can filter through options on what is important to you as a consumer- such as size, colour, features, customer ratings, store availability, and shipping options.

Not only that, but the feature shows a graph displaying the price history, to determine if right now is a good time to buy it, and at the checkout, Klarna will look for available coupons to help you save money.

CO2 Tracker

Klarna also has an  upgraded CO2e tracker which  provides Klarna's 150 million global customers with even more information about the environmental impact of their purchases, bringing sustainability to the forefront of both brand & user. The tracker enables customers to  view the precise breakdown of CO2 emissions for each product and follow the production process from start to finish.

Shoppable Video

Another feature of Klarna Spotlight  includes shoppable video; displaying video content directly in the app. It lets consumers watch and shop the latest trending items directly from the video. Combined with Klarna’s new  Creator Platform, a portal that seamlessly connects creators and retailers to scale and optimise campaigns, Klarna is continuing  to open up new channels and revenue streams that drive measurable growth for its 450,000 retail partners worldwide.
